hey guys, need some advice from the experts.
i just bought a unit to re-install the sequential tail lights to my 71 cougar.
problem i'm having is that the old system was butchered out by a previous owner.
i need to get a set up where a live feed goes to the brake lights, but when the right indicator is activated, the rhs brake signal is switched off, and the same for the lhs, when lhs turn signal is on, brake light feed is off.
i'm by no means an expert, so keep it simple please !
at the moment, i reckon i could use relays activated by a direct feed from the turn signal switch, but i need advice on how to wire this.
thanks in advance,
bob
Hey quattrothedog, I remember those sequential turn signal lights and always thought they were the coolest thing. Are you looking for the schematics of the original system or are you planning to modify it?

i've managed to get them working, i bought a neat kit to replace what had been stripped out, the problem turned out to be that there were 2 wires which had been stripped out at the turn switch.
these wires sent a signal to the sequential control unit to turn off the brake lights to the side which the turn signal is active.
took much head scratching, many beers, and a few choice words, but everything looks real good now
it's amazing what a couple of beers and a few choice words can do!
