I bought a hi/lo H.I.D kit for my mustang gt 1996,i did all the installation except for the pos(+) wire,i think i need a relay, because i know i can't wire the + directly to the batterie.I need to pass via the light switch.

In my instruction they ask me to install diodes and relay...HELP!!! i really don't know how to install those things and

what kind of diodes i need and where can i bought that? can i just install relay? one or two relay??

What kind of system did you get ? I have the 9007 in my truck and it was a very basic installation without the need for relays or diodes. Just asking because I've never seen a system that requires any additional parts other than what is given.

You can see exactly what i bought at www.americanmuscle.com it's a dual beam headlight conversion kit.Where did you take the pos(+) on your truck?

I attached directly to the battery for the truck. For the kit that I installed I didn't have to go into the cab at all. Everything was plug & play except the (+) and the (-) wire. Looks like they spent more money on the packaging than the lights themselves.posted_image

I do, but do to the legality on this issue, I am not going to put other peoples lives in danger by giving you instructions on how to make a bi-xenon wiring harness, as the way you are doing it is illegal and HIGHLY DANGEROUS to other drivers!

This is exactly why they are illegal too, and I thought this forum was very strict about posting topics on things that are illegal!

and those 8000K lights do not produce a white light, they produce a glaring blue light which when driving with it for long periods of time will put strain on your eyes efecting your visibility. 4300-4500K is optimum pure white, and you should go no more than 5000K with a PROPER HID conversion!

If it's highly dangerous for other driver why is there a lot of  cars with them on the road???

bmw, mercedes, volvo, audi, volks, and many more don't seem to think like you!

i think if the headlight are adjusted correctly nobody lives are in danger. It's not worse than those pick-up with their roll bar  and push bar full of fog lights!

And i don't think we have the same law here in Canada about the H.I.Dposted_image

They have them because they were designed specifically for them. They use specially designed projectors to make sure the light does not go higher than a certain point, you would have known this if you would have watched the video. I am sure the laws on this subject are the same in Canada since they are the same here in the states and all over Europe.

mustangfoo is 100% correct. I have/had a conversion kit in my 06 Civic. They are coming OUT. They are the worst. I had my bro drive my car down the road, turn around and come at me......Good God. It was like looking at an arc welder. The danger became obvious to me at that time. And just wait till it snows....This last winter I was nearly blind from the reflection. My lights light up the trees about 15ft. up. (100 ft. down the road)

Nice to hear that you came around! Now do it the right way (still not legal, but sure passes for being legal, and a whole hell of a lot safer for you and other drivers that is for sure!) and put some OEM projectors in your headlights!

Here are some pics of an 06 Civic SI with OEM housings, color modded TSX projectors, philips 4300k bulbs, panasonic ballasts, and added left/right adjustments.

Then you would be good to go! Straight even wide spread beam! And you will not be blinding people!!! I am still gathering parts to do my headlights, I am putting FX35 Bi-Xenon (Hi and low beam projectors NOT hi and low beam bulbs!) and I will also be integrating a motor to be able to adjust the aiming of the projectors while inside the vehicle and on the move.

We did our first set of hids 2 weeks ago. We tried them in the factory housing non projector. Beams were very scattered, yet bright. tried them at night, had the customer drive   back in a 8 pm wow couldn't see shi* with him driving the other way. As a result we will only sell and install them if the customer purchases  projector housings so we can properly set beam height. With the proper housing they are really freakin bright without the scatter and without blinding everybody. Mods maybe a sticky on this issue would be appropriate as I see this is a common topic.

Good idea to stop installing them, and you could be liable if the person decides to sue you! Also there are two different types of projectors, HID designed projectors, and Halogen designed projectors. The projector housings that are pre-built are 99.9% of the time halogen only style projectors, like the ones you see on e-bay. There are a few places here and there that actually sell pre-built housings with HID projectors in them, and I know quite a few people that take projectors from other vehicles and put them in your stock, OEM, or OEM style DEPO headlights, including myself.
