first off, what brand of hid's did you buy? does the kit use a harness that plugs into your factory wiring?

I had a similiar problem before on my ranger. my lights didn't turn off they just dimmed when the car was on and everything running on it(air compressor, system, etc). the best thing you can do is check if you have alot of things running to the battery and how much amps does it draw away. because with that info you can either A) get an upgraded alternator because everything else is sucking the juice or B) run a second battery. from there you can run the HIDs to a relay by using a 30 amp fuse for the lead wire and using the light wire as a turn on switch for the relay. thats how i got mine to stop dimming or shut off.

Don't do the "plug and play" thing. Get 12volts from the batter for your relays (one for each headlight) and use the neg trigger from the factory bulb harness to trugger the relay. The wire that goes to ground wehen you turn on your headlights, Wire it as a standard negative trigger,

posted_imageThe 12 volt out from the relay goes to the (POS)+ for the ballast. Ground the ballasts well....
