Hey everyone, I want to know if its ok that I have 2 neon lights under my dash on the drivers side and pass. side, and patch it into the wire that will make the lights come on when I open the doors. But can I also splice the power wire and put a switch on one end, so when I'm in the car I can turn them on whenever I want? I assume this would be a problem, but what if I open the door when the Neons are switched on? will it send it too much power? and burn something? thanks guys

the thing is with neons that make them so fun is that they dont draw that much amps. yes it is possible to connect them to your dome lights because i have connected beacon lights(to people that dont know what beacon lights are. they are the lights that industrial machinery have on thier roofs that spin the lights around) to the dome light switch on a chevy truck and they seem to be working very well. the thing with the killswitch is that they would turn off the neons when you open door but when you switch them on the neons might not turn on. make sure to check and see on what polarity (+ or -) the door switch is on. and if you are still not sure about the burning the lights thing just run it on a seperate relay with a 20 amp fuse so that if anything happens it'll just take fuse and not leave you in the dark.
