I'm new to this, so bare with me. I bought a 2004 Mazda 6 GT fully equipped and decided to install HID's (8K). The guy told me that i had to keep my lights on all the time if not the lights will flicker like a cops car. I don't mind the flickering, but is it normal and is it bad ???

You don't mind the flickering.... ? You will most definatly "mind" it driving down the road some wet foggy night. NO it's not normal, and yes it is bad.

The HID ballasts require a good solid 12volts with steady current/amperage.

The reason most opf these conversions flicker is, daytime running lights or improper wireing.

Have you installed them yet?

Well what happens is on newer cars you get the computer controlling the HIDs so you either add a harness thats plug n play with a resistor or a capacitor......the resistors get super hot n the caps do too but no where near as hot as the resistor....the resistors have to be wire wound and you can run it in parallel or series in parallel u can do it directly to the ballast in series u have to use 2 relays....what kind of company made the HID ballast and what model is the bulb?
