Hi guys,
Im looking to run a few LEDs to my dash cluster to notify me of the status of my nitrous switches. Its going to be a 'stealth' install, so I dont want a large switch panel mounted out in the open. I am thinking I will mount the switches in the glovebox or somewhere inconspicuous, but would like some lights to indicate the status.
I was thinking:
Bottle Heater: Light on=power to heater.
Arming switch: Light on=armed
Remote bottle opener: Light on=bottle opened.
Now for the wiring. Which I am not experinced at.
Could I simply tap into the + & - of the switch wires, run the leads to where I am mounting the lights, and connect a resistor and LED to the +/- leads? Or would this cause the LED to 'jump' the switch and have constant power to the switched accessory?
Im leaning towards coming off the + of the switch and grounding to a remote location.

The switch wires will ONLY be + and - if the switch has a light in it. If there is no light, there either be no - or no + at the switch (voltage in, voltage out). Assuming you are switching the + you could wire the LEDs up to the output of the switch, through a resistor, then to ground.
