I wanted to put LED indicator lights in my headlights to flash when my alarm system is armed. I know how to install them in the lights, but what I don't know is if I should wire them right into the existing in-dash indicator and if so, what LED's should I use I found these online and wondered if they would work or if I'd need a fuse, resistor, etc. Just let me know if anyone has some suggestions.

It depends on your alarm.  Some alarms can drive 3 LEDs no problem, some can't.  To be safe you can add a transistor to amplify the LED signal coming out of the alarm and then you could use any LEDs you want.

yeah. you wont need a resistor if you are coming off the LED from your alarm. that will be the right voltage. u may not want to do that, because there wont be any extra power on the wire, u will not get bright results.

A transistor , like KPierson will solve your problem for sure. a Transistor kind of works like a very low powered relay. you will have 3 legs on the Transistor. one to control the transistor, and the other 2 to stop or let the current flow though the transistor

ALSO that site u picked out is crazy!, 4 LEDS for $15???? LED's cost about $.10 - $.50 each on most sites..
even radio shack is cheap compared to that.
to get your transistors and LEDs you can jsut goto radio shack.
here is a list of a few LED shops that have erally great prices on LEDs

this site will cost about $.40 each , but u need to buy 10.. Shipping is always $3.99 , and you should expect to get your package in 3 days or less.  (got mine in 2 days, and it was a large box)

THIS SITE ROCKS!  dude, they have the best prices ever.  i buy about 100 LEDS a month from them.  there shipping is always around $2 , and there LEDS cost about $.10 - $.20 each.   the only downfall is you will be exepcted to wait atleast a week or more to get your order.  they are based in CHINA! .. shipping is slow, but the prices are unmatched
