I have a 1993 Acura Integtra and when you put the hi beams on the low beams go out, this leaves the lower portion of the road near to you unlit and really bugs me. When you pull the signal stem/hi beam lever just before it clicks to hi it lights all 4 headlights and this is the illumination I am looking for.I have a wiring diagram but am unsure of some of the symbols. https://powweb.hondahookup.com/manuals1/90-93%20Integra%20Wiring.pdf
Pages 13 and 14 show the light switch wiring. I did this to my Ford F-250 a couple years ago but it was an addon kit.
This can be done with 2 relays. You will need to find the positive wire for the low beams, cut it and connect the wire going to the bulb to pin 30 on the relay. The other end of the wire goes to 87A. You will need to connect 87 to the battery with a fuse holder at the battery. 10 amp fuse for each should be fine. 85 needs to be connected to ground an 86 connects to the positive wire of the your high beam headlight. This wire can be a small (18 Ga.) wire with a 1 amp fuse where you connect it to the high beam positive wire. Pin 85 can also be a small wire. When the lights are on low beam the voltage will travel through the relay as if it were not even there. When the high beams are turned on the relay will energize and then connect the low beam bulb to the 12 volts from the battery. You will have to do this on each light.
Excellent, got a box of new relays left over from my nitrous days. Thanks for the reply.
