I know there are bass cds out there but i want to know the name of some good bass songs (not like songs from rap artists, i want songs with not alot of words and alot of bass). If anyone was at the CES and saw rockford fosgate's hummer they would definitely know what im talking about.

just type in "bass" on kazaa, , , and you will find ones like bass test, mtx woofer test, and other such as that, , , , the track rockford played is all over kazaa, , sadly it makes your subs sound like ass, , i dunno why they used that track....

one of my favorites is this song called "bass can you hear me?". My brother had it on some bass compilation on tape back from like 96, and I can't find it on CD. I downloaded a small part of it from Kazaa though.

Lo Groove_Bass Extreme            Loop_Bass Extreme         Techno Scratch Test_Bass Boost              Drum and Bass in the Asylum_Mad Professor     Bass Competition_Ultimate Woofer Test        Jeep Beats_DJ Dara           a lot of stuff by Bass Mekanik.............are some techno heavy bass songs

Me and My Bass Guitar_Victor Wooten           Funk Is It's Own Reward_Stanley Clarke            Bass Extreme_Clarke, Wooten and Baily.............are some selections for guiter bass

Searches on Kazaa-Lite turned up these and a lot of others.  I've got some good CD mixes this way.   Take note on those techno-bass songs, you'll often find the same song under a different name.  Download a lot because half or more will end up deleted.

I''ve never recorded a song yet where i've needed to raise the bass level, and I don't have the software anyway.  If you're using the computer and a simple program like Roxio (like I do), just audition every file before you burn to make sure they are at about the same sound level.

When you play it on your system, that's when the bass will come alive.

If you really want to compose your own and you really want to encode some deep, subsonic bass, try Reason.  One of the best composition programs available.

Chemical  brothers - "Under the influence"

It will tear your car appart.

Also Lenny Kravitz - "Believe in me"

Rammstein

Prodigy

and go to neurodisc.com  They have some good music there.

Try to get your music from CD's, because mp3 encoders don't do a very good job in the really low frequencies.

Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live - Shaking the Tree (Disc one, track 5... I believe) UNBEFREAKINGLEIVABLE!! Probably the best live recording I have ever heard in my life... Accurate, deep, tight, and EXCELLENTLY mixed wonderful vocals, as well. Alphaville - Life is King, on a couple of their releases... that has stuff to well below 20Hz... And I am in agreement with lensam69, as well... mp3 trashes anything below around 80Hz, in addition to all of your highs. Rammstein - Mutter, be careful! I love that one. GREAT music.

The best recording available to see if you REALLY have the ability to accurately reproduce bass and to handle extreme dynamic range, or if you have built a system that can only reproduce the common TR-808 sounds used in Rap and pop music, is the Telarc recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.  https://www.telarc.com/dvd/title.asp?sku=DVD-A-70541

The best recording of full-range music incorporating bass and sub-bass frequencies ever.

One of the best cd's I have for bass is Quad Force    The Ultimate Bass Challenge and Nightmare on Bass Street. Any of the Newtown labeled cd's are awesome (Techmaster P.E.B., Bass Boy, Def Bass Krew, etc) You can pick them up cheaply on Ebay. DJ Magic Mikes Feel the Bass was the song that turned me into a basshead :)

If you can find this group called "NEMISIS" I think the CD is tiltled "Muchies for you Bass".  It's very old school.  And anybody that has been in this game for a long knows what I'm talking about.

I'm definitely with you NINsane18.  Those are the exact ones I grew up with.  I remember I was at a stereo shop when I heard Nemesis for the first time and I was on a mission to find that tape(for the newbies, very few people had cd back then).  I still hunt for those old groups from time to time hoping their on cd.

No kidding 97gss. I still have so many cassettes, those musicans are getting paid twice when i buy the cd and end up pitching the cassette. It is depressing seeing a lot of 10 + cassettes and having a bid on them at $0.99, considering I paid $10 for it new, and it wasnt that long ago. Remember the music stores had the little rack of cds, now there is a shelf of cassettes :)
