I was wondering for the people who download music. What is the web site. And is there viruses and were they removable. And was it fast. Trying to get some 80's rock.

your local CD Store has all you need.

MP3s are a lossy format and have tend to lose the lower and higher frequencies.

Ares
Bit Torrent
Bearshare
Limewire

All of those are P2P programs and must be downloaded and installed before you can start downloading. They are all pretty fast and do not have viruses. My favorite is Ares.

Check out the hot topic post from supradude at the top of the forum. Personally, I prefer Limewire.

I suggest you have 2 computers. One for daily/work use. The other for downloading so even if you get a virus or anything you still have a computer to go on.

Second for bittorrent, I posted in another thread in this forum about it as well! There are viruses with bittorents, but once people figure that out they quit seeding it and it essintially dies. If you pick popular torrents with positive comments then you can dl fairly safely. Also, since bittorrent can handle larger files and often gets you track listings and album art off of the cd, does the sound compression still occur?

Jared

P.S. Bittorrent is a type of file. There are many programs you need to use them. Search and you will find tons.

i use kazaa it cost 30.00 to get a membership but i havent had any problems with viruses, i dont think you can attach a virus to an mp3, i believe it has to be an executable. so you should be safe downloading music. i think there is a free version of kazaa but i dont know anything about it.
