I am in search of a signal generator to test car audio amplifiers. I remember working with a hand held Rockford Fosgate digital generator that ran off of a 9v battery. If anyone knows what I am talking about or can lead me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

why not just download a bunch of test tones.
Here is a link to Pete Kulicki's CD. It's format is lossless so the quality is much better than all of the other mp3 formats.

It has pink/white noise, and test tones ranging from 10Hz up to 70/80Hz in 1Hz increments.

I am a installer and to test if a radio has bad preouts it is easier to hook up a signal generator to the amplifier input to see if there is output.
