An additional battery isn't going to fix anything, except parkinglot listening time.

What do you have in mind as an ultimate goal?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

just a question that i figured this would be the apropriete thread to ask in if u already upgraded the alternator and ur lights still dim from to much power being drawn would a second battery help keep the volts up and the lights from dimming?

what amp do you have? What's the amerage of the alternator? bruno your question was just answered by haemp. No, additional batteries will only put more strain on the alternator. Have you done big 3 upgrade?

The lights are dimming because the system voltage is going down.. you need to determine why. If it's a wiring issue, upgrade the wiring. If it's a charging issue, upgrade the alternator. Installing more batteries is a charging issue.. if they're fully charged there's not really much of an additional load on the alternator, but if you have a big battery bank that's discharged and the alternator needs to recharge it, it's going to work the alternator.. many alternators die premature deaths from this.

well if you want to compete than look into a big battery for reserve power like a kinetic 2400 or a powermaster 3100
