I have two inverted subs in my trunk and a sealed box.... so the problem I have is  im listening to my system and it sounds good driving under normal conditions but when i have the trunk up getting something out or anything  my bass almost goes away. The subs are still moving and there is some bass  but is not near as loud as when closed.... would the trunk just be acting like a box on the other side amplifing the sounds, is my amp that weak here? or would that mean my box is to big or to small.... ideas are appreciated.....::::::2 1000 watt 400 rms speakers on 1500 watt amp with iunno what rms..

The answer to your question is yea, that's how acoustics works.  Your vehicle - all vehicles - amplify sound energy.  When you open your trunk you are changing the math, that's all.  Same thing happens when you open windows or door, although probably not as noticeably.
