I recently purchased and installed an Eclipse 3100 CD player. I have an adapter that has one end you can plug into the rca outputs and the other end has a mini-jack male end (3.5 mm?).
THIS is it.
I don't know which rca output to use. There is 3 to choose from: Hi, Mid, and Nonfader/low. I tried all 3 and none worked. I figured out how to turn the aux on but no sound comes out.
Any help would be appreciated because i have hardly any good cd's and I only use my ipod in my car.
Oh and would i have to purchase the whole iPod
interface
I'm pretty much broke.
And I have also tried using different ipods.
Thanks guys,
ben

The 3 choices you mentioned are all outputs, they are to supply audio signal to your amplifiers. Is there a set of cables that say AUX INPUT? Or maybe a jack on the front of the unit?
eclipse either does have the aux input on a 6 inch pigtail wire or the unit can be switched to aux through its data bus.
There isn't an aux jack on the front or jack that accepts the 3.5 mm mini jack plug.
And what are you talking about data bus. And i have no idea what a "pigtail wire" is. Thanks for the super quick replies. It does though have one more plug in for like maybe hd radio, ipod interface, etc. I just don't want to have to purchase the ipod thing.

The wire you have is not compatable with the CD3100. You need the specific AUX input adaptor plug from Eclipse, part # AUX105. It plugs into the back of the radio in the bus connector port, a round 13pin demale jack on the back of the cd player. The AUX plugs into that and then has a set of stereo rca inputs for whatever device you want to plug in.
