I purchased the Apline CDA-9884 & XMDirect (CNP2000UC & Alpine adapter) package over the holidays and have had nothing but issues with getting them to operate together. I first though that the problem was an issue that the exact XMDirect2 firmware for my radio not an exact match. But, Audiovox recently released a approved firmware for my Alpine and the same problem pursist.
The problem is the XM radio will work (I activated and listen to all the stations ) for around 30 to 45 minutes then the XM will go into a "searching" loop, as displayed on the Alpine face. All functions lock on the radio are frozen and the only way to get the radio reset is to disconnect the XM tuner to get the radio & CD back. I tried two separate CNP2000UP with the same results - vendor send a replacement.
I spoke to tech support at AudioVox and they say that they never a the same problem reported. I talked to Alpine and they said it is an Audiovox problem.
I checked and rechecked the connects - I reground the CNP2000UC to metal instead of to the radio connect.
Am I missing something - hopefully, someone can share a potential solution. The Audiovox CNP2000UC is the game in town to get XM Radio.
Thanks,
Tom
I am trying to program my new cnp2000uc to a alpine ivaw205 I can select the brand and the model # but when I get to the bottom of the page I cannot select program the module it is like a picture not a selectable link. Did you have any similar problems when you initially programed your piece.
Jason
I had a similar issue and it was the pop-up blocker (disable from the toolbar or hold the Ctrl key when you model #). Also, you did not state the browser you are using - use IE 6.0 or above and not FireFox.
Hope it helps - let me know if you are successful with programing the XM Tuner and if it works in your car. I send mine back today after trying two CNP2000UC units which both locking the Alpine CDA-9884 after about 30 minutes of playtime.

Also, not sure if it was a problem but you may need to grant access in your firewall (if installed) to the AudioVox website (should be prompt by the firewall).
