I have a 1998 VW Jetta and the radio is not getting switched power (aftermarket), i have checked all the fuses but they are all fine. is there an in line fuse somewhere?

any help would be great,

Have you also checked the fuses under the hood?

double check your wires. did you use a harness? if so make sure you have connect it properly. If everything looks fine, take your switched 12v from your deck, and wire it into a constant 12v and see if the deck turns on. If it still doesnt, looks like theres an issue with the deck.

There is no problem with the radio, I ended up running a fused wire down to the ing harness and tapping into the acc wire. I was mainly looking to see if there was a hidden fuse somewhere. I did ask a friend that knows vw's and he said that if the switched power shorts, it fries the ign switch so the only way to fix it is to replace the switch (he said about 5 dollars parts and like 2 hours labor time.) I was just hoping for a quicker fix then running a wire to the ign wires. anyone else confirm this? seams like a stupid idea but I wouldnt put it past VW.

never had an issue on a VW before. well if you ran one to the ignition then your set.
