sub woofer noise

i just took out an eq out of my girls truck. when i connected the rca for the sub to the input space of the radio, the sub's started making a popping sound. why? i tried to replace the rca's but thats not the problem. what's the problem?

Turn the sub amplifier gain all the way down, connect the RCA, then properly reset the gain.

I hope you mean you connected the RCA wire for the sub amp to the radio OUTPUT, not input.

No. I need to give my rear battery a better ground, check my bass x-over for bad power/ground connections, and check all ground resistances from HU to amp, amp to x-over, etc...

It's a pain.
