ok, so i have an 06 pontiac g6 gtp coupe with monsoon sound. i am constantly blowing rear OEM speakers and having the dealer replace them. im not trying to over power the speaker with the bass or treb maxed. i am wanting to put in aftermarket speakers but im not exactly sure how to wire them since the tweeter and sub have seperate wiring at the speaker harness. is there a way i can install these without having to re-wire the factory amp?? can i tie the tweeter and sub wires together?? take the neg off the tweeter and pos off the sub??? any input is greatly appreciated!!!!

Speakers don't just blow up. You are either overdriving them or you have another problem. You can't use any old aftermarket ones either. You need to find ones that are bi-amp capable. They have a separate voicecoil for the woofer and one for the mid/tweeter. They must also match the impedance of the original speakers, otherwise you could overdrive the Monsoon amp. The factory amp is internally bridged to drive both the rear woofers and the front door woofers. Don't mess with the wiring as you suggested, otherwise you will be replacing more than speakers.

there is no way i am over driving these speakers. very rarely is the volume adjusted above mid way and bass levels are set dead middle, treble 3/4 up, and mids dead middle. i have had to have the factory amp replaced once before as well. im beginning to think it is somethign in the car that is causing this to continue to happen. i used to install a few years back and did that for 4 yrs so i know im not over driving the system. this is the third time i will be taking the car in for the right rear speaker blowing. unfortunately, i got out of the game before the new systems had been released so im kind of in the blind with this one.... the only option i could come with in my head is to replace and re-wire the sound in the car completely.....
