Hi, I just went about purchasing speakers sub & mono amp, however, i jsut dont know what i should look for in a front/rear amp. This would be the amp to power (from my HU's 4v PreOut) the front 6.5inch Components/Splits and the 6.5inch Coaxials in the rear. The specs for my peices are as follows: Head Unit: ALPINE DVA-9861E (iPod Full Speed DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver) Subwoofer: ALPINE SWX-1243D (12" 1000w RMS) MONO Amp: ALPINE PDX-1.1000 (Digital 1000w RMS Rated) Front Speakers: ROCKFORD FOSGATE T162S Components (6.5 Inch Splits - seperateeclosed tweeters 100w RMS-200w MAX Rear Speakers: ROCKFORD FOSGATE T162C (6.5 Inch Coaxials 75w RMS-150w MAX) In terms of what I have purchased, what amplifier would you suggest? or what type of amplifier (4 channel - how many watts?) I pretty much just want to know what kind of amplifier I require, I was looking at the ALPINE MRP-F600 Digital amplifier. One more thing, what size capacitor would you recommend and where would it be placed if I will run both amps off the one distribution block? Thanks in advance guys and sorry for all the questions! I would match it up with a PDX-4.100.
You wont need a capacitor, if anything you'll need to do the Big 3 upgrade, which there should be a sticky oh how to do this at the top of the car audio section.

Yea I'd match up the PDX amp that Alpine Guy recommends. That amplifier is a nice piece to be sure, and *nothing* beats the sleek look of a matching, bi-amped system!

Hey Guys, thanks HEAPS for your input,
This is what I have in it now...
Alpine DVA-9861E - iPOD DVD/CD/MP3/WMA HEAD UNIT
Alpine SWX-1243D - 12" Type-X 1000W RMS / 3000W PEAK SUB
Alpine PDX-1.1000 - 1000W @ 4&2 Ohm MONO BLOCK AMPLIFIER
Alpine SPX-17PRO - 6.5" Type-X 100W RMS / 350W PEAK COMPONENTS (front)
Alpine SPX-17REF - 6.5" Type-X 75W RMS / 300W PEAK COMPONENTS (rear)
Alpine PDX-4.100 - 4x100W RMS 1/2/3-4 CHANNEL DIGITAL AMP FOR F+R Speakers
Rockford Fosgate RFC2D 2 Farad Capacitor
Stinger 0/1 GAUGE Wiring between battery & both amps, grounds & cap.
The 4.100 amp for those front speakers is a little underpowered... they take 100w RMS straight up, and i read people putting 200 through them no worries.. but for the moment... i will leave it as it is and then change to a 4.150 in a few months after breakin them in a bit you know...
Any advice on new high end speakers like this, in terms of breaking them in?
Thanks guys!

I really don't think you need a *bigger* amplifier .. Anywho - nice system. I'd be quite proud of that beast. ------------- "I'm finished!" - Daniel Plainview

Oh I Am! hehe, its installed in an '02 Proton Satria GTi, which itself already turns a few heads becase they are quite uncommon. But this system... I haven't let it loose yet, tho after a month or so, I will have it putting out quite alot of noise, hopefully attracting more attention =P
my intention is not to show the system off however, it is merely to enjoy my music the way it was meant to be enjoyed... clear highs, warm mids & deep lows.
