I want to upgrade my speakers in my car and I am wondering what would be a good choice to pair with this setup.....
- Sony M600 HU
- Rockford 500bd Mono Amp
- Kicker Solo Baric S10LZ
- Rockford 1 Farrad Cap w/Digital readout
- Home built Computer for MP3's
Now, I am planing to add a 4 channel amp (Rockford 750X) for the regular speakers. I want a good set of speakers that will handle around 100W rms and sound good. Now here is the catch, as always I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for them. I was looking at the Infinity Kappas 62.5, 63.5 for the front and the 692.5 or the 693.5 and i was wondering if that is a good choice. The only other concern about the infinity's is the 6.5's in the front only handling ~75 W RMS but their peak is somewhere around 200W. Will there be any problems with hooking it up to an amp that provides 93.5W RMS @ 4 ohms. If there is a better choice please let me know.
Only one more thing.....My car is a 97 Civic EX and if I am running those two amps and the computer do I need to think about a new battery and/or alternator setup or should the stock be fine.
Thanks in advance

stupid back mouse button, always erasing my messages!
. hahaha ANYWAYS....the kappas are good speakers and you shouldn't need to worry about the RMS ratings being slightly under--infintiy does this with some of their subs too.
The only thing a new or additional battery would let you do is play your system longer with the car turned off. Once the car's running, it uses the alternator. What kind of "computer" is this? Is it powered using a dc inverter, and what kind current draw does it have?
Also, how loud do you listen to your music? Are you constantly booming around town, or do you just like your music moderately loud and clear? I'd say if the lights start to dim with both amps running, even with the cap hooked up, then you might wanna think about upgrading your alternator.
Thanks I think I will stick with the Kappa's! Just had some concerns.
To answer your questions: I am using a DC-DC power supply for the computer (Pentium 3 1GHz, MB and 30 GB HD) that has a 150W draw. I chose not to use the inverter because of the lack of quaility in the AC that it puts out and I liked some of the shutdown featrues that the DC-DC PS had. As far as listening to my music, soundquailty is a must. I like my music moderatly loud so no really mind numbing pounding.
That's answers your questions. Thanks
