I Have a Pioneer Premier TS-W5102SPL   on the way and am looking for 1 big, or 2 strappable, (or multi strappable) amplifiers to power the beast.

Taking suggestions, but would like to stay away from Rockford, Alpine, etc. etc.   What have you guys used out there?

The sub is 6000W Peak 2500W RMS

Give me SUGGESTIONS!!!

Why not one big amp that gives you the power you need at 1 ohm? MTX, Bassworx comes to mind right away.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

the original post says (1) big or (2) strappable.

MTXs largest amplifier only does 3750 @ one ohm, and is not 1 ohm "strappable.

I have never heard of Bassworx amplifiers before. I thought they only made enclosures.... but ill check out their website.

Any other real world experiences with any other brands at such a high power level?

thanks!

Why not get the Pioneer PRS-D1200SPL or you could get a Rockford T2001bd its rated @ 2000 rms @ 1 ohm but most birth sheets for it show around 2500 rms or higher.

Why not Alpine?

You just made many people frown, like this; posted_image or disapprove, like this; posted_image.

Haha, just clowning, like this; posted_image

Seriously, though; why not Alpine??!!

I would guess because the biggest amp Alpine currently makes is only 1000 watts x1 @ 4 ohms.

The sub has 2 2ohm voice coils. You could power each with an Alpine PDX1000.1.

So, you don't need 2 strappable amps. In fact, you could use 2 completely different brands of amps on this sub.

Oops, double post.

This is what I would do -2 PDX1000.1's.

Keep in mind, enclosure design/build is just as, if not more, important than raw power.

I was looking for the most bang for the buck (putting rockford & alpine in the gutter)

I just figured sometimes, you can purchase smaller amps that are strappable to get more power out of each and lowering the overall cost.

I will take a look at the suggestions made, but am also looking for more.

Thanks!!

What is your budget for 2000-2500watts RMS?

At first you say you're avoiding Rockford and Alpine b/c of pricing, but now you say there is no budget?!

Get 2 PDX1000.1's, power each coil with one, and be done. You'll have plenty of power on tap (I think Haemphyst said his birth sheet stated his 1000.1 makes over 1100wRMS), and stackable -to take up less room. 'Nuff said.

I just re-read my posts and dont see anywhere that price was a concern of mine. I want to stay away from Rockford/Alpine because of their high price/watt, and thought a double amplifier setup using smaller amplifiers for a larger output than one amplifier might be cost effective, but no, price is no matter. I am looking for people that have used multiple amplifiers on one sub, or a large 1 ohm stable amplifier.....and their experiences with the product.

Still taking suggestions from people that have actually used the product in this manner.

Thanks!!

i should just point out that regardless of your choice, it will be hands down easier to

install and setup 1 amp vs 2.
