Hello everyone, I have a Ford Explorer oem subwoofer that I would like to get the wiring pinout and color code for please if anyone may happen to know it. The Ford part number on the sub is 6L2T-18C804-AC, for 01-04? Looking at the plug on the amp it has 6 pins across the top and two pins in what can be called the lower left hand corner and two pins the lower right hand corner. Kind of a U shaped pin pattern. This is a sub I would like to install into my wife's Explorer. If anyone has this info., that would be awesome. Aftering reading some of the other help everyone has offered on here, I think I have found the right place. Thank you a ton in advance.

If you have access to an ohm meter and a torx driver to take the bottom cover off of the amp, I can help you with this.

Thank you for the reply. I don't have the amp apart at this time, but I have done some further searching and found that the top row of pins is 1 thru 6, lower left are 7,8 and lower right 9,10. I also found this...pin 1, yellow, pin 5, blk/org, pin 6, RED / blk, pin 9, blu/red and pin 10, blk/org. All other pins not listed are not used. Now I need to find what the colors are and I think I'll have it. Question though, blk/org twice, curious about that one. Thank you again!

I have no idea what color wire is for what. But if you take the cover off of the bottom of the amp, and have an ohm meter I can get you enough info to be able to use the amp.

I actually have the factory service manual for the 02 Explorer. I own one myself but do not have the factory subwoofer. From what I can tell from the Diagram(which is very poor, it's more like a block diagram) the following wires are power: Pin 6 - Yellow - 12V - 20 Amp fuse pin 2 - black and orange - ground pin 1 - RED / Black - ?? - From radio pin 7 - BROWN / orange -?? - From Radio pin 8 - says LB/RD so maybe light blue/Red - ?? - From Radio The signal ground seem to just disappear, probably just ground to the amp housing. One of those 3 pins is your remote and the other 2 are your left/right Signal. The diagram is just not clear which one is which though. I can tell you the corresponding pins on the radio the radio they goto. Pin 7 goes to Pin 2 on the radio Pin 1 goes to Pin 4 on the radio Pin 8 Goes to Pin 1 on the radio Signal ground goes to Pin 3 on the radio Those 4 pins are on harness "C" that goes in the back of the Mach radio. I will look around more and see if I find what those 4 Pins are on the radio's output.

I found a Expedition pin out, Its Different plug but it had RED / Black - Negative signal and BROWN / orange -Positive Signal. It doesn't have a light blue/red wire though. I'll keep looking

okay found the pinout for the back of the radio here for you, you need to follow the connection for "J2" that is the subwoofer output plug on the back of your radio. https://carstereohelp.net/wireharness_Ford1.htm sooo - pin 1 - RED / Black - Negative Signal from Radio Pin 1 pin 7 - BROWN / orange -Positive Signal From Radio Pin 2 pin 8 - says LB/RD so maybe light blue/Red Switched 12V From Radio Pin 4

I want to thank the two for their input. I am the type that once I get started one hunting the answer for something, I won't stop until find it. I want to thank you, i am an idiot and flobee4, for your help. Here is what I have found out... Pin 1, Enable, switched 12v Pins 2,3, Gnd Pins 5,6, Power constant Pins 7,8, Sub signal Pin 9, Shield Pins 4 and 10 are not used I tried this config above, when power is applied to pins 5 and 6 and 12v applied to pin 1, the amp activates, pulling roughly 1 amp, scoped the output and there is gain. I am going to install this this weekend and will post success or failure.
