Hey guys, new to the forum/ car audio scene. So heres my story. I have a 04 avalanche with the bose speaker package and would love to get a good system started. Im wondering what i would want to get first, what the best kind is, and how much i should be looking to spend on each specific part. Thanks in advance

Well, whats the most your willing to spend?
Simple would be an aftermarket head unit and front component speakers and an amp. A more elaborate system would be the above plus a subwoofer and amp under the rear seat, or a sub box made to replace the midgate.
Whats your cup of tea?

well i am hoping not to buy it all in one go. But for the first while i would probably be willing to spend nothing over a grand. Thats not to say that i wouldnt put more into it. what does the bose package do? when i bought it it wasnt really explained to me and i could have cared less at the time.

Step 1) Head unit - In-dash navigation/dvd player seems to priority these days...
Step 2) Components (front & rear speakers) with amp -or- front and rear speakers with amp.
Step 3) sub(s) with amp(s)
Decent components and equipment installed professional, $2,500 is a good budget :D You could do it yourself for about $1,500 - $2k
