That depends on too many different factors to answer.

For what purpose in what vehicle?  Please let me know what you are planning to do.

If I had four Fi 18" subs, they would not be in my car but mounted IB in a ceiling baffle in my home theater.

You would, wouldn't you? posted_image Me? I'd put 'em in the floor... So's the neighbors could enjoy, as well! (perimeter foundation... <grin>)

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I've looked at fi subs before - there doesn't really appear to be much difference between the various lines- nevermind that each has numerous add-on options and what-not.  I'd choose based on power handling - other than that - fi subs all have high excursion numbers and nice looking build quality.

My impression is that equivalent gear can be had from companies with - uhh - a functional website.  Seriously - if a web presense is your primary distribution method - a broken website sorta makes me wonder about the woofers.

Nice looking woofers I guess - but the broken website seriously turns me off to the brand.

I like the "fi" emblem on the dust caps - slick looking logo.

OMG!

Are those your pics DYohn?

What fastners are used to hold the basket against the mdf?

Would two of those woofers have polarity reversed?

Could something like that would represent some type of long term structural problems?

No, they're not mine, but I designed and installed the system. The clips are modified mirror mounts, designed so the drivers can be mounted or unmounted fairly easily if necessary.   All four are in phase, at 4 ohms to a 1000 watt amp.  The baffle is 13ply Euro-birch, ODB and MDF.  Fi 18" "Q" series drivers.  No structural issues - except maybe long term.  Capable of flat response to 18Hz and over 130dbSPL.  It's great for watching movies.  posted_image
