I've got a kenwood amp and the fuses on the amp melted as well as a little bit of the plastic on the amp around the fuses. I'm assuming there is a problem with the internals. It isn't getting the best ventilation, but I can't see that causing the fuses to melt. Any ideas?

Ground wire too small/ground return resistance too high it sounds like to me...

A small ground wire will generally not fry the amplifier fuses, it will generally fry the ground wire.  Sounds to me like you amp is toast.  Take it in for service.

It did on my brother's BOSS 4000w ( high quality I know...) amp; he had an 8ga ground wire on it and it melted the ground terminal and the area around the fuses as well...

If I had to guess I would have to guess that you are running the amp at below the minimum impedance.  Thus making it pull too much current and heating the fuse holders up.
