Hello all, I'm having a problem with my hifonics bxi 1206d.  Currently I'm running 4 sony xplode single 4 ohm speakers, ran to give me 1 ohm, the amp is stable at 1 ohm and produces 1200w roughly at 1 ohm.  I currently have the factory radio in the car, for which I'm running a rca inverter off of one of my rear 6x9's so that I can have a rca to run to the amp.  It worked fine for awile, but now when I start to crank the volume up, the amp shuts off, it doesn't go into protect with the red light though, the green light is still on but the lights on the top of the amp shut off, as well as the amp.  When I turn the car off and get out then restart the car, the amp kicks back on, and then it does the same thing again when I turn the volume up.  Can some one tell me possiblly what my problem is.  thanks much

Sounds like the amp is fried.  Hifonics may SAY it is 1-ohm stable, but that does not mean it likes operating at one-ohm.  I'd say it has simply died.  Time for repair service.
