Need more info on the popping noise.  It occurs at turn-on,  turn-off, or when you change radio stations?

if it's popping when you're turning on you can try this....

get 2 identical resistors, put one end of each resistor towards the factory amp turn on, and the other 2 ends one going to ground and one going to the amp turn on off of the unit. that worked for me when i came across this problem on an 05 mustang. hopefully what i said made sense it worked for me, and for reference it was a mustang with a "shaker" system.

A DMM is a beautiful thing.

Does your truck have a factory amp?

a 5volt voltage regulator from radio shack. 7805

They cost about $1.60 and not too hard to wire up. The middle pin is ground and on one end will be your input from new radio (the right leg) and the other is the 5v+ fixed output (the left leg).
Looking at it as the picture above.

Most Ford factory amps and an Audi one I came across use a low voltage turn on. This will also make it pop when you change sources or tune radio by seek button.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
