Should I be fine with a 200amp alternator, 0 guage wiring, 8 farad cap, yellow top optima under the hood and in the trunk?

Running two JL 1000/1 Amps to each three subwoofers, and two JL 300/4 for my highs.

Any comments on this setup as well? I was previously running four alpine type-r on two Rockford Fosgate P1000-1BD and wasnt too satisfied, even coming from running two non-brand name amps. Bass seemed a little better, but seems was a little louder with my previous setup before i switched over to the fosgates. Even my local audio shop trashed fosgate.

The 200amper wont do it. You'll need to get the largest one you can get (er... afford).

The capacitor won't help, as it only stresses your alternator more. They simply don't do what they are said to.

Stick with one battery -unless you plan to listen with the car off for long periods of time. They only stress the alternator more, like capacitors.

Honestly, I don't think even that will be large enough! You're putting some serious power in that car/truck!

98 buick regal GS. its a sedan, lol. what will i need then? with my last car with the 2 rockford fosgates, i had a 200 amper and a yellow top under the hood and in the trunk, voltage stayed around 12V/11.5V.

a healthy  car charging system runs about 14.4v.   and 300 would still be pushing it.  you should do some dual 200a alt.. to pull enough power.  your 1000/1s are pulling 100 a piece and the 300/4s are at what 60 to 70  pluss whatever your car needs to run everything else in it such as ac, gauges lights etc....

Looks like powermaster is a no go. They only make the brackets for fords not GM. They did suggest that i stencil out a bracket with poster board to make a template and take it to a metal fabrication shop. I know for sure I will need a longer belt correct? anything else?
