I have a 2005 Pontiac GTO.  I have replaced the entire factory stereo system and now I want to add a third sub and amp.

I have an Alpine CDA-9885 HU and off one of the two RCA preouts I am running an Alpine amp to power the four cabin speakers.

I have a second Alpine amp off the only other RCA preouts, it is powering 2 JL audio subs on the rear deck.  It works good, but I would like some more bass.

So, I bought a third Alipne amp a MRP-M850 to power a Alpine sub in the trunk.  But I need to know, can I "Y" off the RCA preouts on the back of the HU, and use a Bass Knob controller to control the third amp?

Thanks, Tom

Or..... is there a better option without replacing amps and HU ?

Why not use the subwoofer output from the HU and run a new set of RCA cables?  That way you retain your fade control and do not have to lose the subs if you fade to the front.

I am currently using it for the amp that is powering the two JL subs on the rear deck.
