I was designing a bandpass box and I came up with something that was good but it showed that it wasn't going to get as much SPL as a ported box. Is this just the sub because I though I would get more output from a bandpass enclosure then ported.

Just build a proper ported enclosure... They usually are louder than bandpasses. They are much easier to design and build.

Also, the word 'bandpass' should already turn you away (one-note wonders).

When designed correctly bandpass boxes can sound pretty good...but it takes some one that knows what they are doin usually.

I know the risks and the sounds of bandpass. I was wondering why I was getting more output with a ported box then a bandpass. Is it just my sub or what?
