I have 2 12" kicker L7's in a small sealed enclosure (13 1/4 H, 28 1/2 W, 13 1/4 D) with 1 cubic ft each chamber. I bought this to start off and it sounds good but it's time for a more solid box. Either ported or sealed. What type and specs should I get. I'm looking for some smooth solid bass and good SQ?

hmmmmm.... sq and L7 in the same sentence... okay... first off.. u gonna have to stay sealed in order for the L7's to remain composed because they are a dB sub mostly.... i would probably go up to about 1.25 sealed per sub and don't forget to factor in displacement with your design.. the guys over at kicker tech support can help u with the math on dat.....

What amp are u using??????

there can be only one.......

The Kicker L7 was a very bad choice if this what you are trying to achieve.

I have heard many of these (mostly 15's) and they are definitely NOT sq designed drivers. I hate to tell you, but toying with the enclosure specs is not going to yield anymore sq out of these drivers...

You should look into a Morel Ultimo 12 Subwoofer, it only costs about $900.00 bucksposted_image , but it is ohh soo smooth.posted_image

Simply use the info offered in the manual (and available on the Kicker website) for optimum SQ performance in a sealed box.  You will find that the airspace should be twice as large as what you have experienced.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
