If the manufacturer of a sub recommends a 1.5 cubes, sealed box, but WinISD shows better response in a ported, 2 cubic feet  box, which should you use?

I'd post the graphs if I could figure out how...

Manufacturers recommendations are aimed at their perception of the average user's needs and what will be "safe" for their product.  Programs like WinISD allow you to do far more customized and specific calculations based on your personal desires.  In almost every case, WinISD calculations are more precise.
