does anyone know how much difference it will make running a jbl bp600.1 mono amp at one ohm rather than two?i can buy two 12" alpine type R subs , but they are dvc 2ohm, so i can only get .5 or 2 ohm load with them.should i  wait and find some dvc 4ohm subs so i can get the amp down to one ohm???

The amp does not have to be run at it's minimun load.  Yes it will make more power at 1 Ohm, but it will work harder and possibly not last as long.  If you have to get all of the bass you can get, you should find some dual 4 Ohm drivers.  If you are wanting to add a little bass to your system, the dual 2s wired at 2 Ohms will give you a lot more (longe life) out of your amp.
