I installed a gmrc-03 harness in my deville and as far as the rap feature is concerned it works properly, but the settings have to be reset on the aftermarket radio if the car's off longer than 30 minutes. Is there something else I have to do?

You need to connect the yellow wire of the radio to the battery via a 10 amp fuse AT the battery. These cars are famous for the memory circuit not keeping power.
