Ok, so I want to know how many watts my subs are getting from this amp. I have them wired in parralel, and both subs are hooked to the one channel (there's two wires coming from the positive terminal and two from the negative.) In theory, how many watts would this give to each speaker? the amp is rated @ 1000 wrms @ 2ohms, 500 @ 4, not stable at 1. Are these getting 250 a piece? or am I wrong?

If they are 4 ohm woofers, them you will COULD be providing as much as 500 watts. If they are 8 ohm woofers, then 250 watts (per woofer) are on tap. It doesn't mean you are always putting that much power into them - it will depend on the source material, the input signal voltage, and the setting of the amplifier's level matching control. (Some people know that as a "gain" or "gain control", but it really isn't.)

That is a one channel amplifier. You are just not using the other output wires, provided to make connecting multiple woofers easier. They are connected inside. If you were to connect one woofer to each set of wires, then you would still be at 4 ohms or two ohms, again, depending on the impedance of the woofers.

They are 4 ohm woofers, but I am confused about what you mean by 'just not using the other output wires'. I only see one set of speaker terminals on the amp. Is that what you are talking about?

So I checked out the sub wiring diagrams, and here is exactly how I have my subs wired.

Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 1 ohm mono

But my amp says its not stable @ 1 ohm, and i've been running this sub/amp setup for almost a year now with no problems? I'm still wondering how many watts these subs are getting, and I don't think it's 250 a peice, because it hits crazy hard.

man i am very suprised that you are still running that combo...  if you have them wired down to one ohm.....  suprised the amp and the subs have not fried...

That's what has me so confused??????  When I first hooked it up, I went by the diagram in the manual (which of course didn't account for two woofers instead of one). So the whole time, I thought I was running them @ 2ohms, but apparently I'm not...   I thought normally when you present an amp with an ohm load lower than it can take, then it would go into protection mode.... but no, it just keeps pounding those subs. Nothing is wrong with either sub or the amp either, they have all been used in different cars, with different amp, etc.
