Ok guys, I've been trying to figure out what to put in my 93 Explorer:errr:. I've decided to go with US Acoustics amps as they are highly rated for a very good price. The amp for the subs is rated 1250 watts at 1 ohm or 750 watts at 2 ohms. So my problem is deciding which way to go on subs. I originaly planned on 4 10" subs, never decided on a brand. Now i'm thinking maybe 2 12" instead. Either way i'm wanting good sq but i want them to be able to rattle some heads as well. Now most of the brands i've seen listed on here i've never seen or heard before. Most local stores around here suck so!! No i listen to mainly rock and metal if that helps and the subs will be in a ported enclosure( i've never liked sealed ones). So, what do you guys think or better yet, if it was ur truck how would you go about it?!?! Thanks:D Oh yeah one more thing. Whats everyones opinion of buying stuff from online stores??? I noticed that Online Carstereo.com has some pretty cheap prices..almost too cheap!! Kinda makes a person wonder.

On online stores, the problem with most of those is you dont get to use the factory warenty on the item you buy as the store is not considered a athourized dealer. On the price, its like anything else on the net - less overhead less cost to you.

Well, I'm not looking to go nuts here, as you can tell by the amps, What i've looked at so far is less than $500 for the subs. I dont need any high quality pro series, just a good medium grade i guess you could say. This system is for personal pleasure, not competition, but i want it to be loud and sound good, just for a decent price!! Don't want much do I...lol...thanks guys

Might want to look at the eclipse 88120dvc subs also known as (SW8102DVC). They are 500 watts rms with dual 4 ohm voice coils. If you wire them in parallel that will give your amp a 1 ohm load. These subs putout both sq and spl. They are very reliable and can take a beating. If you look around you can get them for $250 from an authorized dealer.

You can buy a pair of soundstream Davinci subs. These are very unique speakers and they will slam you stupid and still have the s.q. you are looking for. You could problably pick up a pair of 10's for around 500 bucks. Sometimes you can find a good deal on ebay for these and get 2 12's for under 500 bucks

Cheak out this site. You can get 2 Infinity Kappa perfects dvc for $320.Or 2 JBL's GTI 10's for $239 a piece and they have a power handling of 600watts rms 3000 peak.

Someone needs to state the obvious here. Use ebay! You can find stuff ridiculously cheap even if it's not used sometimes. If the seller has a really good rating and a DOA return policy, then you have nothing to lose. Why pay more than you have to?

Hey guys, well it had been awhile since i put up this post. My truck goes in this Friday for the install. I will post what all i went with as far as model numbers and such when i get all that info. But basically i will have all Eclipse and Diamond stuff. It should be interesting for the guys looking for a moderate, on a budget system. But basically, it will consist of 2 10" subs, 5X7 or 6 1/2 (havent decided between the 2 yet) in all four doors, pair of tweeters in the dash, 2 amps, and a headunit. Like i said, I'll post when i have all the info i know you guys will want, see what everyone thinks of it. Wish me luck!!!
