Subject: amps and capacitor size?

I am currently running 2 Insignia 1000 watt amps and a Kenwood 800 watt amp. What would be the best size of capacitor to run in my car? I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L. I'm currently using 2 caps at 1/2 farrad each. I know that's too little but at the same time I don't want to over do it and take a chance on messing up my alternator either. Thanks to whomever reply's with an answer(s). :errr:

ur gonna need a new altenator, with how much they charge for caps nowadays, ur better off upgrading to a h/o alt, and maybe 2 batteries

someone else more informed will be bound to post, and well, i dislike caps, my cap threw my entire system haywire and did next to nothing

I just upgraded to a 70 amp alternator today. And a 90 amp one is almost 250 bucks. Which is nuts. I was also thinking of the 2 battery system as well. Thanks.

This is in no way enough, even on a good day. Consider what the rig ALONE needs at night (lights heat etc.) then add a couple ams that will draw 20/30 amps ea. add anothe amp, the KW.

another 15 to 20. And I'm not talking about rolling the volume knob up and open either.... do this and draw even more. You upgraded to 70 ams? what the hell was stock?

A new alt. and a pair (exacly the same) of batteries designed for this type of use..... good to go......    remember, it takes power to make power !  (I love that saying)

Do the upgrades, the big3, and dump the caps.... their in the way.

the cap malfunctioned and was drawing power randomly, it was causing my lights to dim, i removed the cap and everythings fine, but i believe something in my amps a lil f*cked now cuz the amp shuts on/off, or the power light will dim, but ill never buy another cap
