I am not familiar with the GM alternators, but if there is a sense wire on them, there could be a diode in this device.  12 volts into a diode will yield 11.3 to 11.5  volts out.  If there is a sense wire that they put the diode in line with, it would make the alternator think that it needs to put out more voltage.  It may work, but what scares me about it is there are no user reviews posted on their page.

If there is  a sense wire on the alternator and you know which wire it is, you can get a 6 amp diode from Radio Shack and connect it in series with that wire and see what it does.  Let me know if you need the part number and installation instructions.
