I have a basic question for you guys, first off you have helped me many of times and thank you for your advice, I work at Circuit City installing and i put in tons upon tons of radios in but the most common problem i have, is when the radio will not play any audio with a cd or dvd from the unit. Such as, i hardwire all of my wires correctly, so as i am going over the install i can hear audio when it is on Tuner (am/Fm) but as soon as i put in a cd or a dvd (for the flip outs) no audio is present. Now i know how to fix this problem, for me i have always just tied the amp turn on and the power antenna together and it works fine after i do that, but i still dont understand why this simple rewiring would fix this. So please 12volt help me out agian!!!

Thank you

You need to connect the blue / white wire of the radio, instead of the blue wire. Whatever you connected the blue wire to, unhook it and connect the Blue/White wire to it.

i have always connected :

Blue/white to Blue/white

Blue to Blue

and all the other wire to wire. So when i tie the blue to the blue/white wire,  why do i finally get audio from a cd?

blue is for power antenna (+) and blue/white is for amp turn on(+)
the only problem is most harnesses don't have both, or if its a amp turn on, its still blue.So then you are only sending a 12v amp turn on when the radio is on (power antenna) and not the amp too. So when you switch your source to something other than the radio you don't have a 12v output for the amp You should get in the habit of using the blue/white wire on the radio side of the harness to connect to the blue wire on the car side of the harness unless you have both blue and the blue/white which in that case use both.
