sensitivity is hard to compare...the specs do not state in what way the test was done. Any good quality subwoofer will work well depending on application.

I would choose the Type R over the PB though.

Powerbass. As stated by their head honcho in an article I read in Car Audio Mag.  Best bang for buck out there.  (he actually said that)posted_image

type rs will blow your mind i love those subs.  currently in the process of fabricating my box for 4 10"type rs in my civic hatch...  great spl and sq for the price and enclosure space...  swear by these subs.

I knew a guy that had 2 Powerbass (spelled 'Powerbase at the time, don't know what the deal with that was!) 12's rated for 350watts RMS each powered by a 30x2 Alpine amp.

Get this, he had speaker wires from the HU ran to the RCA inputs in the amp. If that isn't bad enough, the gain knobs on the amp were broke off -jacked all the way up! The subs took it like it was nothing, for about 6months!

Just did 129.4 with it maxxed, I have a 1500w rms amp here... do you think I can hit a higher db with a bandpass box? Thanks.

129.4 is a low score. With a nicely designed and built ported enclosure you can hit considerably higher than 129.4

What amp do you have?? model number??

I had a powerbass asa-1000d, i have available a xa-900d, and just installed a xa-1500d, 5 min ago and I'll try and tune it in and set it up tonight to get a reading

https://www.powerbassusa.com/products/amplifiers.html

I also run a high output 170A alternator, 14.4 constant, 3 caps, so I don't think power is an issue.

I feel like Im loosing a lot from the sealed box, but all I have available right now is a bandpass box I might try tomorrow.

I'll be honest, I put the bandpass in and not much changed, and the amp change same thing...
