is a 750.1 kicker amp to small for 2 12' kicker cvr's? I'm considering putting either the 750.1 amp or the 1000.1 amp but dont want to spend the money if i don't have to. There is really nothing in between these two amps as far as kicker goes and i don't want to overpower the subs and blow them.

Are the subwoofers dual voice coil? and what are the ohm ratings for the subwoofers you have? At 2 ohms the 750.1 will make around 750 rms.  This will be enough power for these subwoofers as long as the load run is a net 2 ohm load.

i would be buying them in the kicker box which comes out as a 2 ohm load. Do you think they could handle the 1000.1?

sure either the 1000.1 or the 750.1 would work as long as they are tuned correctly.  There wont be much difference in terms of volume between the 2 amps.  Maybe at the most 1-2 db difference which is hardly noticeable in a daily driver.  The 750.1 would only be 50 rms under the rated power.  This a very small ammount, i would go with the 750.1 it would cause less strain to you electrical system, and it would be cheaper to go that way as well.

no problem, after looking the the prices of the 2 amps there is only a 20 doller difference between the 2 amps.  299 for the 750.1 and 320 for the 1000.1, the 1000.1 maybe give you some room to expand in the future, keep that in mind as well.

change of plans. talked to an installer to get some insight on an all kicker system and he threw this idea at me. in my 1997 honda accord  6-1/2 Kicker KS components and tweeters in the front. Drop the 6x9's in the back and put in also the KS series 6-1/2's in the back no tweeters. In the trunk run two 550.3 kicker amps. Run a 2 speakers to both channels on the amp and one sub to the mono channel on each amp. Doing this for both sets of speakers and two 12' kicker cvr's....

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Yeah it looks like you should be able to do that as long as each chanel stays at 2 ohms or a greater load, anything below that could possibly damage the amplifier.  You could also go with the 750.1 and a kicker 4 chanell something like the zx650.4

ya i was actually trying to get everything like symmetrical so i can get like an amprack and some custom work done in th trunk and i think the two amps that are the same would look pretty cool together in the trunk with the subs. do you think that the mono channel on the amp will push those subs very hard?

If you are goin to run one amp to each sub you are going to be running it at a 4 ohm load, this will only produce just over 200 rms to each subwoofer.  the way to solve this is to buy 2 subs each dual 4 ohms, them run one sub to each amp in parallel.  this will produce a load of 2 ohms, at this load the amp will produce just over 400 rms which is perferct of theses woofers.

i planned on buying the subs in the kicker box. i can get this package coming out of the box at a 2 or 4 ohm load. i planned on getting the 2 ohm package originally for the mono amp. should i change this decision now that i am thinking about getting the two 550.3 amps. i would most likely end up buying the subs in box then taking them out of the box so i could wire them seperate to each amp and then sell the box because i basically get the box for $30 in this package which is cheap for that nice of a box.

if you are going to buy those in a prefab box from kicker why would you take them out?  do the 750 or 1000, you be much happier.  and do a nice kicker 4 channel like the 350.4 which is only a inch shorter than the 750 and 3 shorter than the 1000.   just a thought but  you would be happier with the mono with a seprate amp for mids/highs

yea i'm prolly going to do the 750.1 and the 350.4 it will actually just save me some money about thirty bucks in the long run and some trouble with wiring the two 550.2 was just an idea an installer gave me but he was thinking as far as customizing my system those amps and sub combination would be something different from what everyone else around me has

do you think that the alternator in my 97' honda can handle both of these amps? The alternator is stock and all.  I had the 850.2 kicker amp running a single cvx and the headlights would flicker a little bit but nothing too bad, do you think that adding an amp would make that big of a difference? I really don't want to add a battery, replace the alternator, or add a cap.

upgrade your big 3 , but with the 750 and 350.4 you might need to at least add a new bat.  alternator might be in the near future for you too.
