I installed a crossover network & a small 4 ch. amp in my 2002 hyundai accent. Before I started I had replaced the stock speakers w/infinitys all around and added in a 8" bazooka and it worked good. I wanted to add 2-10's & pull some bass out of the rear infinities I came off the grn, orange, white & brn wires on the drivers side of the car & now non of my speakers play. The radio does still have power as well as the amp & crossover (which are not connected to the front speakers. Help! What have I done wrong?

i take it you are using a line out converter and using the factory radio. for one you have tagged off of a front and rear speaker. are yousure that they are the speaker wires you tagged. tag behind the deck for ensuring you are getting the right wires. green + orange - (LR) orange + blue - (RR) ------------- you can do it....

I didn't pull the radio. I hate trying to take that s**t out because it never seems to go back in w/o jacking something up. I came off those wires because that was the colors of the wires at the rear speaker clips. I connected wires to them w/bullets & put RCA plugs on the ends going into the crossover (it has no hi inputs). No, I didn't use a line out converter. I basically just wye'd off the wires going to the back. I was hoping someone would have an actual wiring schematic so I could trace them. Chiltons & Haynes don't make manuals for this year Hyundai (I think I should have either bought a better car, or taken it to a pro). I appreciate your help.

The output chips in newer radios are very sensitive. If you connected the negative speaker wires to the shield of an RCA jack on a crossover, chances are you took out the output chip of the radio. Some of the newer radios do have protection circuit built in. If you got lucky it may just be in protect. Disconnect everything you did right before it quit. Try it and see if it is working now. If it is working consider yourself lucky, and go to a stereo shop and get THEM to install a line out converter for you. Get them to install it behind the radio. They will be able to get the radio back in the dash. If it is not working after disconnecting everything you did, your radio is broken. The output chip itself could cost you up to 60 dollars just for the part to repair it.

simple ended with eight track..... ------------- you can do it....
