Subject: which tweeter wire is positve?

This is my 3rd or 4th post and I want to say thanks for all the help so far.

I have a pair of Diamond Audio M361 components that I bought used. The tweeters each have two wires attached to them. One wire is solid black and one wire is black with a white stripe. I don't know which wire is positive and I don't want to hook them up to the x-overs until I can figure it out. I am sure there must be an industry standard regarding this but I don't know what it is. Can anyone tell me if the solid or striped wire is positive?

Thank you!

-------------
Eric

ben a while since i installed dimond gear.    but i seem to remever it being the white stripe.       white stripe = positive        plain = negative      on most equipment you can usualy assume that any stripe that is any color other than black is the positive terminal.

...not only that, but it won't matter, anyway. You can't damage the driver by reversing the leads, and if it seems to sound "off" or "somehow wrong", swap the leads.

Otherwise, davngr is pretty close to right - the stripe will usually indicate positive.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
