i have 2 kicker 15" cvr's, a hifonics bxi1606, and a an alpine ida x200 head unit.

the amp just starts, i hear a sort of pop, then goes into protection mode. the whole system worked perfectly this morning, when the car was cool. when i got into it after school today (car sits in the sun ALL day) it played for about 10 seconds, then the subs went off COMPLETELY. the amp remains on, but stays in protection. i turned the car off, and turned it back on and had the same problem. ive tried turning on and off the head unit several times to provide fruitless results. the subs are 4 ohms, and the amp is supposedly 1 ohm capable, but i didnt try. from what the installer told me, they're wired at around 4 ohms. i also havnt touched any of the amp settings since i got the car back from the installer. any help would be appreciated.

Remove the speaker wires and the RCA cable from the amp.  Turn the system on, then using a volt meter verify that you have 12 volts across the power and ground terminals of the amp.  If you do have 12 volts and the amp is still in protect, You have a broken amp.
