Well to start off I have a 07 cobalt ss/sc.... I got a pioneer avic D3 for a HU and mtx 6x9s in the rear right now... I orginally had one new style alpine type R sub in a 1.75 q logic box with a alpine mrd 605 amp... well after dynamating the whole car I craved more power to the sub. So I bought a alpines new PDX 1.1000 amp... toasted the sub later that day from it just taking abuse over the 3 years I had it so I got 2 new type Rs both 2 ohm. Now im looking to build a box for my subs. I Just wanted everyones opinion on the subs/amp combo if the amp is going to be to over powering? And I would like to know whats a recommend size for the subs as far as a box is concerned. Im thinkin about going sealed this time around and I know crutchfield recommends 0.57-1.0 cu. ft. but ive been reading around and a lot of people say that the subs need more space then that so looking around I noticed most go with 1.5 to 2.0 cu.ft. Just wondering what the pros on here recommend

No. That amp will be fine. Wire them each to 4 ohms, and wire one woofer to each amplifier connector.
The datasheet for those woofers says .7 to 1.0 cubic feet (gross) for a sealed box, and .75 to 1.75 cubic feet (gross) for vented.
However, that being said, I expect that you actually misadjusted your amp. A woofer will NOT just blow from "taking abuse for 3 years". When you install all of your components, be sure to adjust your amp's gains correctly.
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i recently had a couple of those subs and i built the box to .95 cuft. that is the ideal enclosure space that i found through all my trials and errors.
------------- you can do it....
advanced MECP, lol does it really matter....
