I just got a pair of subs this afternoon, along with a 2ch amp. I got home, and connected one of the subs up to a factory headunit running from a motorcycle battery.

That sub worked fine, had nice bass and sounded clean. I hooked up the other sub, and I hear nothing but high frequencies. I try to push on the cone, and it wont move. I pushed on the other sub and it moved just fine. What could be wrong with this sub? I can get *some* bass out of it if I push on the cone just right, but it wont play on it's own.

Thanks guys, Keith

The one that won't move is probably toast.

could something be out of alignment? I can get it to work a little, it just buzzes really loudly.

i just fiddled with it some more, and it works, but it sounds like something is loose. it's rattling.

I agree, subs aren't supposed to "rattle". Its toast.

It's baked, dude... Take it back.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
