i just got a hifonics 2008 class d amp. its got a 200 amp in line fuse on it. my 94 explorer only has a 95 amp alternator so i just listen to it until the battery meter starts jumpin after a couple minutes. i also have a red top in there. not extra but under the hood. i was looking at some 200 amp alts, would that be suffient enough. i dont wanna pay for the 300 amp alternator. thats just too much lol. i think my electrical system, lights, heater, ect... pulls almost 50 amps at most times.  also would another red top in the back help? i know it would take longer for the alt to charge them but its just a thought. looking foward to some replies to help out.

I think the 200 amp alternator would be enough, I usually do not recommend an extra battery , also last but not least upgrade the BIG 3.

if you do it yourself it only costs the price for wire and terminals solder and heatshrink,......you can get wire at local stereo shop, battery shop, I've evened used welding cable.

I bought my 1/0 awg from a welding supply store: it was cheaper at the time, the wire is perfectly fine, and its cover is REALLY durable.

I also bought my wire connectors from https://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?Category=Installation%20Accessories

Gold plated, and the crimping part of the connector is split (not all are) so you can get a tight connection to your cable. You might be able to find them cheaper on ebay or something though.

I think it cost me around $60 to do my big three. I have an exploder too.
