I recently bought 1 L7 12. It is dual 2 ohm voice coils.

I have it running on a punch 300s 2 channel. Which surprisingly pounds the hell out of it.

It is in a 2.75 cu. ft box slot ported and tuned to 36hz.

Here is my problem. It pounds rediculously for that small amp. which is only running about 300rms. After about 10 minutes of lows it will start cutting off I am sure it is because of the amp heating up. how much louder would that sub be if I through a bigger amp on it. say something like 800 rms.

It is the older series L7 with the kicker L7 logo on it. 1500 watts.

Since I am only running about half power to it now would it be an imrovement in bass also to run a bigger amp on it.

hi I have a 15 soloX in one of my cars and it sounds awesome but on my bmw im using a 12 l7 dual 2 ohm with the black cone. I have a old mtx 81000d that I modded to be able to play down to 1 ohm and let me tell you those subs pound. they arent the best for sq but for spl they are pretty good. I have about 1000 rms if not a little more running to it and it makes my sunroof jump off the track and it jams so everytime i play music in the car i have to close the sunroof. at 800 rms it will pound very well you will be suprised with what these subs can do.
