I have a 2004 Audiobahn A4125HCT amplifier that doesn't play any sound. I have good power, ground, and remote, but I don't think the line inputs work.

I know the wires are good because I hooked up another amp, and it worked fine.

The warranty is long gone on this amp, so I took the face off and wasn't able to see any loose connections or burn marks. I really want this amp to work because it has alot of power.

Any suggestions on what to look for and ways to fix it would be appreciated.

The EASIEST way to fix it is find your local Alpine dealer, and get a PDX1.1000.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

If that is the route you are going to take, the PDX 4.150 would be a better choice to replace that amp.

DOH!

Didn't even LOOK at the model number! All I saw was "broken" and "Audiobahn". LOL

Does the power light on the amp shine as brightly as it did before it broke?

I think so, It has been awhile since I ran it in the car, and I have only tested it during the day so the light isn't really noticeable. The one thing I noticed is that the remote wire doesn't show 12 volts on it. Everything works fine on the other amps I have tried.

If the remote wire is not reading 12 volts, I would try to figure out why it does not have power on it.

I have never been as unimpressed with an amp as I was with those things. I find them to be gutless and not worth my time. Sorry bud, but I have yet to have one live up to anything close to my expectations of them.

All I can think is that you didn't install it correctly; whether it was the load, or the power supply or something. I am as hard to impress as just about anybody I can think of, and those things are FANTASTIC amplifiers... I don't buy ANYTHING "not worth my time". Impressive as hell, is what I call 'em!

Gutless? Hardly!

Very nice review of one the most  craptasticest amp ever built!

Like it has allready been said it's not worth fixing, that amp has already worked longer than most of the people will give it credit for. It;s time to send it to chrome hevean. And  ues your money for a better amp your amp would want it that way.posted_image

Dragon, the review you thought was for the Audiobahn amp was actually for the Alpine PDX 1.1000

I replaced the inputs, and it still has no sound, so I think that I will get rid of it. Does anyone know if I can get any money for this amp? It seems like everything else works on this amp, and I paid alot of money for it.
