How did you set the gain on your amplifier?

I don't know if there are specific numbers for the gain but I increased the gain to make the speakers louder. Should I try turning the gain down? If this works, what else can i do to make the speakers louder or will I need stronger speakers to increase the gain?

You need to set the gain properly to match the output from your head unit (use the forum search feature if you don't know how to do this.)  If it then does not get loud enough for your purposes you'll probably need to upgrade both the speakers and amplifier.
